Food, health and collaboration at the FEAST Community of Practice
21 January 2026
January was a month to share our work and feed lively discussions with like-minded colleagues. Bauhaus Bites took part in the FEAST Community of Practice for Food and Health. The sessions bring together projects working at the intersection of food, health and community engagement, creating space for open exchange and mutual learning, you can read more about it here.
The meeting opened with a presentation by Aaron Juarez from WWF Sweden, who introduced the Bauhaus Bites vision and how the project supports cities in co-creating food environments. Kathy Belpaeme then shared how the twin city of Oostende is revitalizing the food environment in the Lighthouse District, highlighting both progress and local challenges. Finally, Emilia Pardi discussed how PUSH is engaging young people to build food literacy through collaboration with local partners in the city of Palermo.
We finished with a discussion with FEAST colleagues, focusing on shared challenges across different initiatives. Topics included how to build trust with local stakeholders, how to ensure lasting impact beyond the lifetime of a project, and how to connect local action with wider political and policy change.
The exchange confirmed the value of learning across networks. Bauhaus Bites looks forward to continuing the dialogue with FEAST and exploring new ways to work together in support of healthier, more sustainable and more inclusive food systems.
